(EAU CLAIRE) Eau Claire is buying electric cars all with the hope of attracting more business-minded green and residents. The city could be the first in the State to make this move.
The President of the City Council of Eau Claire Kincaid says Kerry making at both the strategic plan 2009 to reduce its carbon footprint by allocating $ 45,000 for electric car and charging station. City employees will use cars to get public works projects and a city inspection. Kincaid said the city hopes to inspire green in other types as well, a good business takes when relocating.

Eric Jamelske is Professor of Economics at UW-Eau Claire. He said the purchase of electric cars is more than a symbolic move than anything but if the company felt could benefit from Eau Claire green initiatives can make a difference.
“They may be interested to have a certain mentality, especially if they think that will potentially lead to incentives that help businesses are also moving in that direction,” said Jamelski.
